yOUR SIGNATURE "HYDRATION DRIVE"

7/21/2026

Picture
Unfortunately, the public often perceives funeral homes and their employees within the deathcare industry as merely awaiting death for financial gain. This perception is profoundly inaccurate; however, unless there is an opportunity to demonstrate your true character, such assumptions will persist. Let us change this narrative, beginning with a simple water bottle and your annual signature event titled "(your facility's name) Hydration Drive."

Why a Signature "Hydration Drive";
Maintaining adequate hydration is essential for supporting cardiovascular health, regulating body temperature, facilitating digestion, and enhancing cognitive function. Your hydration initiative demonstrates the community's recognition of your dedication to promoting their health and well-being.

Implement the Framework for your signature event:
I recommend initiating a weekly hydration drive starting in August 2026, designating that month as your dedicated period for your signature hydration event, as August has numerous opportunities to serve the community through this effort. Upon completion of the event in August, review its outcomes and decide whether to bring it back at the beginning of next summer to extend through autumn, or to establish it as your annual event in August.

Your Goal:

Keeping the community hydrated by handing out water bottles.
(Inquire with local grocery stores or wholesalers regarding substantial discounts on water bottle cases.)

Operation Logistics by Location:
Funeral Home: Provide every individual departing your Funeral Home with a bottle of water.
Firehalls: drop off a case of water directly to each station.
Candidate Volunteers: on election day, hand out bottles of water to volunteers outside the polls.
Back-to-School Bash: ask to be included with your "Signature Hydration Drive" at every back-to-school event.
Welcome Back, Educators: provide a case of water for the teachers' lounge at the school, accompanied by a sign reading "Proudly supporting our community's health and grateful for the educators who serve our community."
Nursing Homes, Assisted Livings & Senior Centers: Drop off a case of water for the employee lounge.
Carry Bottles: Randomly hand them out to construction workers, garage truck teams, lawn care workers, and anyone in need.

Branding Option:
  • You can apply custom labels to the bottles featuring your funeral home logo and a message "Proudly Supporting our Community's Health".
(Custom water bottle labels available at Oriental Trading online, or message me and I will send you the link)
  • You can place a note in each case dropped off with a note "Proudly Supporting our Community's Health" and your funeral home signature.
  • Wear Custom T-Shirts: "Proudly Supporting Our Community's Health".  Place your funeral home initials on the sleeve.
  • Attach a flyer to your water bottle case: "Proudly Supporting Our Community's Health", etc. (give thanks in the message if they serve the community).
  • Let them know who you are: Post photos of your Hydration Drive on your social media platforms, include this on your website, contact the local media (get on a radio show, tv news, local newspaper, local social media groups) with a public service announcement; (Example) Jones Funeral Home is holding its annual "Hydration Drive" in August.  Our mission is to remind the community of the importance of staying adequately hydrated to support heart health, regulate body temperature, aid digestion, and boost brainpower.  Let’s work together to keep our neighbors and community hydrated. Help spread the word!

Communication for delivery of your Signature Hydration Drive: (Example)
"Hi, this is Fred from Jones Funeral Home.  As a part of our community hydration drive, we would like to drop off some water bottles. Our annual Hydration Drive serves as a reminder to our community to maintain adequate hydration, which supports cardiovascular health, regulates body temperature, facilitates digestion, and enhances cognitive function. Is tomorrow or Friday better to deliver these?
(Your signature — email — phone)

Supporting your community by passing out water bottles builds trust, establishes your funeral services as a helpful neighbor, supports health, and creates positive, low-pressure interactions with residents and businesses.   It's a little bottle that provides your powerful message.

I recognize your compassionate identity; now it's time for the world to know as well.
