dID YOU FORGET SOMETHING?

9/18/2026

You are running on empty, making sure the families you serve get your full attention while juggling daily tasks to ensure each memorial, funeral, service, or pre-planning event is perfect.  This means leaving your personal family gathering to attend to a call or grabbing a clean jacket to greet an unexpected family member-the list goes on- all while keeping a smile in the midst of exhaustion. 24/7, 365 days a year, you're expected to be ready at any time (I thank you for your dedication and am overwhelmed by all you do).

With a schedule like that, it's easy to forget the supporters who take the personal and professional stress off your shoulders so you can focus on your tasks. This safety net can be your spouse, your children, family, friends, co-workers, the mailman, professional colleagues, or others.

Small Gestures, Big Impact

A simple, unexpected gesture of appreciation can feel like a major event to your support network. Here are a few effortless ways to say thank you for their continuous backing:
  • A Mirror Note: Leave a warm message of appreciation on a sticky note on the bathroom mirror for your spouse before they wake up.
  • Doorstep Flowers: Walk into your home or a supporter's home with a fresh bouquet of appreciation flowers. (Grocery stores and pharmacies now carry them).
  • A Quick Message: Send a spontaneous text or voice message, letting them know their support matters.
  • Surprise mail: Send a "thankful for your support" greeting card directly to a supporter's home or workplace.
It takes an incredible amount of heart to serve grieving families, but it takes an equally incredible village to support the person doing the serving. Your network doesn't expect grand gestures- they just want to know that their quiet sacrifices, sounding board assistance, meals ready, understanding, and more are seen and appreciated.
Today, make a list of those you want to surprise with a simple token of appreciation. Then, do it! Don't take your support system for granted; even the smallest support can add up to your success.
