mEMORY sTATIONS

8/31/2026

Families often bring you photos to display, or you ask for some. You might scatter them around the room, which is lovely. But why not take it a step further by creating a beautiful, personalized display? This small personal touch will add much more to the service you provide, without costing you anything.

CREATE "MEMORY STATIONS"
  • Rather than scattering photos randomly, try organizing them on tables by chapters of someone's life, like childhood, hobbies, career, and family. This creates a cozy, inviting display that tells heartfelt stories and celebrates their life, helping viewers feel more connected.
  • Add personal belongings that match the display, such as books, sports gear, a logo jacket, a cherished blanket, or other items that reflect their personal life.

HOW TO DO THIS?

Beginning today, let families know you'd like to share their loved one's story via a Memory Station, and give them your flyer (with your logo). The flyer guides them step by step through the process.

Here is a flyer you can use or create your own:

Your Loved One's Memory Station
To help our staff organize and display your loved one's treasured life, please bring your items and photos sorted into separate, labeled bags or boxes by the categories below:

-Bag 1: Hobbies and Passions; Include items and photos that show what they loved to do. (Example: Sports Gear, musical instruments, favorite books, gardening tools, apron, craft items, photos, etc.).

-Bag 2: Achievements and Legacy: Items celebrating their hard work or milestones. (Example: Military medals, diplomas, awards, collections, uniforms, photos, etc.)

-Bag 3: Personal Touches & Clothing: Signature items associated with your loved one. (Example: Favorite jacket, hat, glasses, coffee mug, blanket, trinket, photo, etc.)

-Bag 4: Photos & Albums of birth through life. Framed photos, albums, or loose photos (please bring loose photos in a Ziploc bag labeled).  If you would like a certain photo in the lobby or at the main table, please label it.

Please bring these sorted bags to the us by __(date)_______ by noon. Our staff will lovingly arrange everything. We will pack all items back up for you to take home afterward.  We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, though we do our best to prevent this.

WHAT ADDED SUPPORT WILL THIS BRING THE FAMILY?
  • This approach assists with "grief brain" by streamlining decision-making via a step-by-step checklist.
  • Creates a Healthy Distraction, enabling them to concentrate on joyful memories instead of their loss.
  • Conveys purpose by filling the unexpected emptiness.
  • Providing peace of mind by adding a personalized touch for their loved one.
